Our History
Cowboy Trailers is a family owned, local business. It opened in
November 1988 with barely enough tools to hookup a trailer. The
owners, Roy and Linda Anderson, had been in the used car and
auto auction business since Roy was eighteen years old. At the
age of 40, with three teenage sons, Roy decided to go into the
horse trailer business.
Times have changed considerably over the last few years and so
has the business volume.
The first year only 150 steel trailers were sold. Last year over
600 (mostly aluminum trailers) left the Cowboy Lot. Only one
son, Jeffery, has elected to stay in the business. Jeffery
worked full time at Cowboy Trailers and attended the University
of Louisiana at Monroe University obtaining his Agriculture
Business degree in 1994. He has since become CO-owner and
general manager. Cowboy Trailers has a total of ten full time
employees and brings in extra help when needed.
Cowboy Trailers handles several leading makes of horse, stock,
and cargo trailers. We sell Bison, BuckDandy, CM,
Cimarron, Exiss, Forest River, Longhorn, Rice, WW, and Pace
American trailers. In 2004, Cowboy Trailers added RV's to
their inventory. We service what we sell! We do not want to be
the largest RV Dealer in town, just the one with the most
satisfied customers. We have a complete shop and parts department
to service what we sell. Special order trailers are not a
problem at Cowboy Trailers. Living Quarters Trailers are
Jeffery's specialty.
